On the offer
Housed in an eighteenth-century patrician mansion, the Hôtel de Gaiffier
d'Hestroy, whose stucco facade has been listed as part of Wallonia's
exceptional heritage, the TreM.a displays treasures from the Middle Ages
and the Renaissance. Among the masterpieces on show – the
earliest of which date from the twelfth century – visitors will find:
- the Treasure of Oignies;
- the Virgin of Marche-les-Dames;
- a Jesueau (Christ Child in crib);
- pre-Eyckian paintings;
- paintings by Henri Bles;
- sculptures by the Master of Waha;
- the livery collars of the guilds of Namur.
The TreM.a publishes many scientific and popular works including monographs, visitor guides and exploratory guidebooks. The latter are free for young visitors (aged 4 to 6 and 7 to 12) and are intended to help them discover the museum's treasures in a playful manner.
Upon reservation, guided tours and activities around the permanent collections, the Treasure of Oignies and the temporary exhibitions can be organized for groups, private individuals, families and schools. Children can also celebrate their birthday at the museum!
